Surfer's ED was started by Jonathan Makiri, who was born and raised in Los Angeles and has been surfing here for over 25 years. Jonathan has taught lessons and coached thousands of students at varying levels of surfing. We're a permitted and certified surf training business and have been conducting surf lessons in the Los Angeles area since 2012.
 
We specialize in long-term coaching that will improve your surfing over time as well as private one-on-one coaching, and group lessons where you'll receive quality instruction and individual attention in a group setting. We also take larger groups out surfing for events, whether it's an office outing, team-building or a bachelor/bachelorette party. We know all the best "locals surfing" spots in Los Angeles and are confident you'll have a surfing experience you won't soon forget.
